Sandpiper Art Gallery & Gifts
Membership Information

Sandpiper Art Gallery & Gifts is an all-volunteer cooperative and non-profit Fine Arts Corporation. We believe that art enhances the quality of life in our community. Our goals are to bring regional art into the community by sponsoring exhibits, enabling and supporting area resident artists to show their work in a professional gallery setting, provide opportunities to share their skills through workshops, and encourage young artists to participate in the arts. The Sandpiper Art Gallery & Gifts provides Scholarships to Lake and Sanders County students studying the arts in any accredited college, university or art school.

 

The annual Membership Year runs from January 1st to December 31st.
 

Membership dues are due January 1st but no later than January 31st each calendar year. Membership dues will not be pro-rated regardless of when you join. Membership dues must be paid in full, however the number of workdays required will be pro-rated based on the yearly amount for your Membership Level, divided by 12 months and multiplied by the number of months left in the partial year.

Patron Membership

​   PATRON MEMBERSHIP
$100 annually

(Does not attend. Past member or approved by the Board)

  • Patron Memberships are available to a past active Sandpiper Member who no longer feel they are able to work at the Gallery, or a person selected and approved by the Board under special circumstances.

  • Patron Members will not be required to attend the gallery.

  • Patrons may show 1-3 pieces of art per change of each show.

  • All sales will be charged a 30% commission, and you will be paid monthly.

  • Receives Gallery bulletins and communications sent to members only.

  • Have full rights to participate and initiate discussions at monthly Board Meetings as a non-voting member.

  • Has full use of the library and may borrow books for one month.

  • Additionally Emeritus and Lifetime Memberships with no participation requirements may and have been awarded to members of long standing or generous donors at the discretion of the Board.

Friend of the Gallery

​   FRIEND OF THE GALLERY
$100 annually

(Community Member)

  • Members of the community who share our interest in the arts and would like to support the Gallery by annually donating to the Sandpiper Art Gallery and Gifts general fund.

  • May volunteer for Gallery Activities.

Active & Associate Membership

​      ACTIVE SINGLE  $50             
Must Attend the Gallery
(8) eight days per year.

 

      ACTIVE COUPLE  $75              
Must Attend the Gallery (12) twelve days per year.

 

ASSOCIATE SINGLE  $100         
Must Attend
the Gallery (4) four days per year.


ASSOCIATE COUPLE  $150       
Must Attend the Gallery (6) six days per year.

The benefits of the ACTIVE & ASSOCIATE MEMBERS IN GOOD STANDING levels include:
 

  • All sales will be charged a 20% Commission and you will be paid monthly.

  • Display new artwork in the Gift Shop and in every Gallery Exhibit all year.

  • Discounted booth fees in the Sandpiper Art Festivals, subject to Festival jury acceptance.

  • Display art in the Sandpiper Booth at both Festivals for $25.00, subject to chairperson approval.

  • Receive Gallery newsletters and all other communications sent to Members.

  • Have full rights to participate and initiate discussions at all quarterly Member Meetings.

  • Have full rights to participate and initiate discussions at monthly board meetings.

  • Full use of the library and may borrow books for one month.


Requirements to receive full benefits:
 

  • Attend/work the gallery the minimum days required for the Membership Level selected between January 1 and December 31.

  • New members must have trained 2 days before displaying their art in the gift shop or the Gallery walls.

  • Returning Members must have met the prior years work obligation and pay their Membership Dues before January 31.

  • Discounted Festival Booth Fees will only be extended to Members who have been in good standing for a minimum of 6 months.

  • Encouraged to attend as many Opening Receptions or member meetings as possible and volunteer to host, bring food, or cleanup after these events at least (1) event per year.

  • Must be willing to consider volunteer service as a Board Officer, Committee Chairperson, or Committee Member, when positions are available.

Student Membership

​   STUDENT MEMBERSHIP
$20 annually

Student Memberships are only available to students who are currently enrolled in a high school or an accredited college.
 

The Sandpiper Art Gallery & Gifts is always looking for talented, enthusiastic students to help with Exhibits, Festivals, Publicity, Receptions, Member Meetings, or in any other capacity that might enhance their education or benefit the Sandpiper's mission.
 

We offer many opportunities for Student Members to volunteer and help with Gallery activities that will enhance their Art and Art Business education.


The Benefits of the STUDENT MEMBERSHIP include:
 

  • Students are not required to attend the Gallery but are welcome to work with a parent, guardian or Board Member.

  • All sales will be charged a 20% Commission and you will be paid monthly.

  • Display new artwork in the Gift Shop and in every Gallery exhibit all year.

  • Display Art in the Sandpiper Booth at both Festivals for $25.00, subject to Chairperson approval.

  • Receives Gallery newsletters and all other communications sent to Members.

  • Have full rights to participate and initiate discussions at monthly Board Meetings as a non-voting Member.

  • Has full use of the library and may borrow books for one month.
